Free State Prophets http://www.freestateprophets.com/ We are a 4-piece London based band made up of a few simple ingredients, we have music in our blood and we feed off each other, producing an incredible energy that will remind people of a kind of freedom, almost like a prophecy. Trying to revolutionise music into a different state, able to experience togetherness, relief, hate, and love all at the same time. When we hooked up in 2003 we realised that we have found something special and that we were meant to be. - (Read more)
Gaz Abbott http://mp3unsigned.com/gaz.asp All the songs, parts and vocals on the demo's you will hear on this site are written and played by myself and recorded on my basic home recording set-up. These are more 'note-book' versions of songs that I hope to get re-recorded soon either with my own band or as published songs for other artists to use and media placement. I am currently playing solo open mic acoustic nights to try out new material and arranging quality recording time with other performers to complete professional demos for publishing & promotion consideration. - (Read more)
gazpachoworld http://www.gazpachoworld.com Gazpacho have been quoted as the best unsigned band in the world. Why? After many years in the studio, the 5 musicians who regularly got together in the studio to write music for the pure pleasure of it, decided to show the world what they were up to. Their two previous albums "Bravo" (2003) and "When Earth Lets Go" (2004) were launched entirely on their own merit and awareness spread by "word of mouth" throughout the world. It didn't take long until four of their tracks were in the top 3 in the old mp3.com from their debut record "Bravo". But mp3.com went bust, changed hands, and the band needed to change their tactics. A smaller batch of records sent to the appropriate media channels lead to critical appraisal in over 40 magazines and e-zines, with headlines as: "Pop Kings for the Future" (Panorama) "Gazpacho have to be Norway's best unsigned musicians" (Monster Magazine) "..seldom I have been blown away this much by a new band." (Dutch Progressive rock pages), "Their debut album is a rare beauty" (Oor Magazine) "If you can't appreciate this music, then you have no soul" (StereoHead) Gazpachos debut album Bravo sold, without any backing from record companies or management, in excess of 2000 albums in 2003, debuted in the dutch indie charts at #6, and hit #1 three times on Mp3.com. This introduction to the big world was mostly thanks to the internet Internet proved to be a useful tool, not only in communicating with fans across the world and selling records, but it saw a unique collaboration between continents (USA, Norway, and New Zealand) on the song "Novgorod". This track was written and produced between these places without even paying for a single bus ticket. The American singer Esther Valentine and producer Peter Kearns from New Zealand teamed up with gazpacho to write this atmospheric song entirely by sending files back and forth through the internet. Strange thing is, they've actually never met face to face, and still haven't to this day. - (Read more)

Guided by Voices http://www.gbv.com/ Guided by Voices (often abbreviated as GbV) was an American indie-rock band originating from Dayton, Ohio. Since the band's formation in 1983, it experienced frequent personnel changes, but always maintained the presence of principal songwriter Robert Pollard. Guided by Voices disbanded in 2004, though many of its former members remain musically involved in solo careers or other side projects. Guided by Voices' work shows influence from post-British Invasion garage rock, psychedelic rock, progressive rock, punk rock and post-punk. Guided by Voices also garnered much attention for its prolific output, with a seemingly endless stream of releases. Most songs are in the two-minute range, but many are even shorter; often they end abruptly or are intertwined with odd and homemade sound effects. Guided by Voices progressed over time from an aspiring bar band, to willfully scuzzy basement obscurantists, and on to a relatively professional riff-pop machine in the latter half of the 90s, yet the constants throughout were Pollard's grasp of the pop format, his cryptic lyrics and titles, and melodic invention. - (Read more)
